NIESBUD-IFC Trainers' Capacity Building Programme

The National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (An Autonomous Institute under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India) in association with  International Finance Corporation (Part of World Bank Group) conducts; TRAINER’S CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME at National/International level, across India.

Programme Description;

The National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of India, in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, has launched a Trainer Capacity Building Programme to help and enhance the capacity of MSME trainers to deliver effective training in the areas of Entrepreneurship and Business Skills.

NIESBUD-IFC Trainer Capacity Building Programme has been designed and will be delivered by international experts bringing to you the combined global expertise of both institutions. IFC, through its internationally renowned Business Edge training programme
, has enhanced skills of and certified over 1000 trainers across more than 30 countries spanning Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Programme  Goals;

The programme aims to establish a new standard of excellence and set a benchmark for Entrepreneurship and MSME Training in the Indian market including a process to monitor and measure results and training effectiveness.

The goals of the programme are to;

•   Increase the capacity of MSME trainers through a Training of Trainers process

•   Improve skills and knowledge transfer from trainers to MSME learners in areas of    
     Entrepreneurship and Business Skills

•    Achieve measurable outcomes when learners apply acquired knowledge and skills in the MSME workplace

•   Build a professional community among trainers

The programme will be scaled up across India over the next Couple of years.

Workshop Objectives;

On completion of this Trainer Capacity Building workshop, participants should be able to;

•   Describe characteristics, preferences and expectations of the adult learner

•   Describe competencies required of a trainer

•   Explain how to prepare for training

•   Identify their own and others’ learning style and implications for training

•   Explain how to present training content effectively

•   Create and use visual aids to support training

•   Demonstrate new and effective facilitation skills, behaviours and techniques

•   Demonstrate how to ask and answer questions appropriately

•   Follow guidelines for giving and receiving constructive feedback

•   Describe how to manage difficult situations in the classroom

•   Evaluate their own strengths and areas for improvement as a trainer

•     After the successful certification, Trainers might get empanelled with NIESBUD for providing training sessions.
