NIESBUD-IFC Trainer Capacity Building Program

NIESBUD in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) , a member of the World Bank Group, is launching a unique program Trainer Capacity Building Program to help enhance the capacity of MSME trainers to deliver effective training in the areas of Entrepreneurship and Business Skills.

The program aims to establish a new standard of excellence and set a benchmark for Entrepreneurship and MSME Training in the Indian market including a process to monitor and measure results and training effectiveness.

The Objectives of the program are :
  • Increase the capacity of MSME trainers through a Training of Trainers process
  • Improve skills and knowledge transfer from trainers to MSME learners in areas of Entrepreneurship and business Skills
  • Achieve measurable outcomes when learners apply acquired knowledge and skills in the MSME workplace
  • Build a professional community among trainers
The program will be scaled up across India over the next three years.

Process:
The first Trainer Capacity Building Program will be held May 30th – June 3rd, 2012 (five days).

Interested Training Institutions and Trainers are requested to submit an Application Form (provided at the end of this document) by April 30th. All applications will go through a competitive selection process and candidates will be notified by May 14th.

On completion of the five day Trainer Capacity Building Program, candidates will receive a ‘Letter of Participation’ jointly issued by NIESBUD and IFC. On further demonstration of key trainer competencies during two field trainings, participants will receive a ‘Certificate’. Demonstrations will be assessed by trained assessors using a standardized trainer assessment methodology.

In addition to the Trainer Capacity Building Program, a few candidates will be invited to undergo further professional development by participating in a Training of Assessors (ToA) Program on June 5th – 6th where they will be trained on the processes and techniques used to conduct reliable, fair and flexible assessments of trainer competencies. Certified Assessors will then have the opportunity to support the program as it scales up across India.
